Terms of use

These terms cover the ThingyProof website operated by David Gillespie, Whangarei, New Zealand. By creating an account you agree to them. If you do not, do not upload photos.

The service

ThingyProof lets you store room and appliance photos, read them into an editable contents list, and export PDF and CSV files. One account has one home. You must be 18 or older, and you must have permission to photograph the property and the things in it.

Not insurance

Not insurance advice. Estimates are informational AI-assisted bands, not appraisals. We do not sell insurance or file claims. Bands can be wrong. You are responsible for checking serials and values before you rely on an export.

Plans and Stripe

Free limits are 1 room, 10 photos, and 1 PDF. CSV export is not limited by that PDF cap. Home is NZ$6.99 a month or NZ$49 a year. Home+ is NZ$12.99 a month or NZ$99 a year. Home+ extras are feature-flagged off. Paying for Home+ does not turn on unbuilt tools.

Payments are processed by Stripe. Cancel, change card, and download invoices in the Stripe Customer Portal. If the first charge happens and you never generated a PDF, you may ask for a goodwill refund within 14 days using the contact on the Stripe receipt. After day 14, annual plans are not prorated.

Acceptable use

Do not upload other people's homes, illegal content, or bulk images to farm OCR. We may suspend an account that does. Daily photo caps apply.

Your data

You can export a CSV at any time and a zip of your account from the account page. Deleting the account deletes the stored photos and rows. It does not by itself cancel Stripe. There is no support inbox. The help page is the manual.

Liability

The service is provided as-is. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for claim outcomes, missed serials, lost data if you did not export, or decisions you make from a card. New Zealand law governs these terms.
