Home inventory app
A home inventory app that starts with a photo
Not insurance advice. Estimates are informational AI-assisted bands, not appraisals. We do not sell insurance or file claims.
A home inventory app should answer a boring question: what is in this room, and roughly what would it cost to replace? Spreadsheets answer it if you have a free Sunday and a good memory. Most people do not. They remember the sofa and forget the floor lamp, the speaker, and the model number on the dishwasher.
ThingyProof is a home inventory app for a phone browser. You create a room, photograph it, and review item cards the vision model extracted. You fix what it got wrong. You export. The whole product is that loop, on purpose. There is no feed, no social graph, and no second home.
Prove what's under your roof. The photos are the proof. The PDF and the CSV are the copies you can keep if this website disappears.
What you get on a card
Each card has a name, a brand, a model, a serial if one is visible, a category, a replacement value band in US dollars, and a confidence hint. Confidence is High, Medium, or Low. Low means the model was guessing from a blurry shape. Edit the card. Serial numbers in particular should be checked against the plate, character by character.
Cards come from two kinds of photo. A room snap looks for durable goods you would bother listing. A rating-plate snap is a closer read: make, model, serial, and a manual search query. The plate flow is the right one for heat pumps, ovens, washing machines, and hot-water cylinders, where the interesting text is a sticker in a shadow.
You can add a card with no photo, and you can delete a card the model invented. The inventory is yours after the first read. The model does not lock fields.
Rooms, not a junk drawer
One account has one home. Inside it you add rooms: kitchen, living room, bedrooms, garage, laundry, office, or any name you type. Free allows one room at a time. Home allows as many as the house needs, within a daily photo fair-use cap of 200 snaps.
Ten photos is the free snap allowance, counted for the life of the account. Deleting a photo does not give the snap back. That stops a loop of upload, export, delete, upload. The room allowance is different: it is how many rooms exist now, so you can delete the practice room and start a real one, as long as you still have snaps and your free PDF left.
The app is mobile-first and it is a website. There is no App Store install. Add it to your home screen if you like; the camera capture input works in mobile Safari and Chrome. Desktop works too, with a file picker.
Who it is for
Homeowners and renters who want a contents list before a burglary, a fire, a flood, or a move. New Zealand readers often meet this as a contents or chattels list. The job is the same in Australia, the UK, and the US: personal property, listed well enough that you are not rebuilding it from memory on the worst day.
It is a poor fit if you want barcode retail catalogues, vehicle VIN records, shared family logins, landlord portfolios, or a floor plan. Those are out of scope. It is also the wrong product if you want someone to tell you whether your policy will pay. We will not.
Price, plainly
Free: 1 room, 10 snaps, 1 PDF, unlimited CSV. Home: NZ$6.99 a month or NZ$49 a year, with the room, snap, and PDF caps lifted aside from daily fair use. Home+: NZ$12.99 a month or NZ$99 a year, same inventory tools for now, because the extra features are flagged off.
Prices are in New Zealand dollars. ThingyProof is operated from New Zealand and is not GST-registered. Prices are not advertised as GST-inclusive. Invoices come from Stripe. If that changes, the pricing page will say so in a full sentence, not a footnote buried in a checkout pixel.
